Minor League The goal in Minor league is to teach baseball fundamentals and team participation. Competitiveness is secondary to providing a variety of playing opportunities in order that all ballplayers properly learn the fundamentals of the game. Typically 8, 9, and some 10 year olds participate in this division. 10 year old players in the Minor league are those players not drafted into the Major league. The Minor league utilizes a combination of player and coach pitch. Each team bats through its complete team roster every game. The season ends with a modified double-elimination tournament. |

Minor Division (Ages 8, 9, and 10). In this division, players will continue to develop basic fundamentals and mechanics and expand on others. Players will learn more about the rules of the game and begin developing techniques to go along with the mechanics and fundamentals. This is also a more competitive division and runs scored are kept. An emphasis is placed on team play and good sportsmanship. All 9 year old players and some 8 and 10 year old players, will be assigned to this division. League play begins in May with two and possibly three games played per week throughout the season. All games will be played at the John R. Harp Baseball Complex. Pitching will either be from a player or coach. Upon completion of the regular season, a post season tournament will begin in June.

Baseball Instruction. We maintain a collection of instructional videos at the Flathead County Library, which may be checked out. Please take advantage of these instructional materials – they’re beneficial for players, parents, and coaches.
When questions arise, please contact league officials or ask your coach. We expect all coaches, parents, fans and umpires to be positive role models around the ball fields. Please provide positive encouragement and leave criticism and negative attitudes behind. Thank you for participating in our baseball program. Working together, we can provide an enjoyable summer for all of our ball players.
