Rookie League

Minor League    Major League    All Stars

Rookie League
    Players in this league learn basic baseball skills and plays, in a positive fun-filled environment. All 7 and 8 years olds are assigned to teams in this division, however, if they previously played one season of Rookie ball they may move to the Minor league. Players who are 7 years old and have played one season of Tee Ball or other organized baseball, may play in the Rookie division. Rookie league utilizes a pitching machine to encourage hitting development. A team's entire lineup bats each game and ten players will be in the field for defense.
The season ends with a single-elimination tournament.

Rookie Division (Ages 7 and 8). In this division players will be introduced to basic fundamentals, mechanics, rules of the game and sportsmanship. Parent participation is recommended to have a successful season. Success in this division should be measured by the development of the players and not so much by a won and loss record. Therefore, the more parents assistance coaches can have with practices the more the opportunities the players will have to learn. Players 7 and 8 years old will be assigned to teams in this division, however, 8 year old players that have previously played in the rookie division have the option to move up to the minor division. Opening Day will be at the John R. Harp Baseball Complex. League play begins in May with two games played per week throughout the season. All pitching is done by using a pitching machine. Games will be played at the John R. Harp Baseball Complex. Upon completion of the regular season, a single elimination- tournament will begin on June 10th.

Every season, we need coaches for this division;

If you or someone you know is interested in coaching, please let us know or go to Coaching and apply.

Baseball Instruction. We maintain a collection of instructional videos at the Flathead County Library, which may be checked out. Please take advantage of these instructional materials – they’re beneficial for players, parents, and coaches.

When questions arise, please contact league officials or ask your coach. We expect all coaches, parents, fans and umpires to be positive role models around the ball fields. Please provide positive encouragement and leave criticism and negative attitudes behind. Thank you for participating in our baseball program. Working together, we can provide an enjoyable summer for all of our ball players.
